Ava Alexander

Ava Alexander, a woman with a passion and a purpose. A Freelance writer, editor and editorial consultant, Ava is the former Editor-in-Chief of Trendsetters to Trendsetters Magazine, an Atlanta-based publication.

In addition to her Editor-in-Chief responsibilities, Ava was also the Celebrity Correspondent at Trendsetters to Trendsetters Magazine. She has interviewed such notables as Susan L. Taylor, formerly of Essence Magazine; Cathy Hughes (Radio/TVOne); Congressman John Lewis, Lamman Rucker from Meet the Browns and Why Did I Get Married?; Dr. Steven Perry, Educator and CNN Educational Correspondent; Gospel recording artist, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Judge Mablean, Actors Louis Gossett, Jr., Malik Yoba, Darrin Henson, Terri Vaughn and Quinton Aaron (The Blind Side), R&B group, Levert II; popular syndicated radio host, Tom Joyner and his co-host, Sybil Wilkes; former teen singing sensation, Stacy Lattisaw; BET’s CEO, Debra Lee and the Academy Award winning comedian and actress, Mo’Nique and stars of Meet the Browns, David and Tamela Mann.

Before her work as Editor-in-Chief, Ava was a freelance community columnist with the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville, Florida. She wrote a weekly column entitled A View from the Valley, on such topics as relationships, family, love and faith. She has a 25 year career background in social services. Ava is also a dynamic and energetic speaker with a heart and passion for empowering women. She believes you can turn your trials into triumphs and obstacles into opportunities. She has spoken at many women’s conferences, health and wellness seminars, spiritual gatherings and workplace conferences and workshops. She believes that nothing is impossible with God and delivers her presentations with a unique transparency, candor and sense of humor, while sharing her life experiences and testimonies with the hope of joyfully inspiring others. With an indomitable spirit, Ava is engaged in life, her family and her work. She is a woman who usually sees her glass as half full instead of half empty.

Ava has recently launched her newest endeavor, “Access Ava!” – a blog dedicated to inspiring, entertaining and empowering her readers. Access Ava! was a vision born out of a desire to share some of life’s experiences with a sense of humor, frankness, sincerity and hope.

“I want to enlighten and empower my audience. My blog is a way to do just that in addition to giving me the creative freedom to write about anything that I want, without constraints. It’s an opportunity to share a bit of me with all of you.”

Ava is a New York City native who currently lives in Atlanta, Ga and is the proud mother of two wonderful adult daughters.
